Update for 2012
webElect.net now loads the current elections AB data nightly. Access to the data can only be granted to those proving they have legal access to the data. See: 2012AbsenteeData
Section 101.62(3) Florida Statutes prevents the DOE from giving us access to the current election absentee request information to allow us to update the registration information.
We only have the historical absentee voter info from past elections. Current election absentee data is legally restricted and not public info so all we have been able to do is make an easy way for campaigns to enter the absentee info. You do it by creating a group and copying the column of voter id numbers from the SOE data into the group's barcode page. You can watch this video showing the process:
http://webelect.net/demos/stopMailingEV/stopMailingEV.html
Note that some voters on the absentee list update their address (or newly register) as
they request the absentee so webelect won't get updated with their information
until the next month's update. To address that, we added a tool that lets you use the addresses on the SOE list to create a "householded" list for mailing. That tool is the "Absentee Labels" link in the Voter Info section of the Main Menu. We have added special AB reports that are based on the daily AB data loaded directly into webElect to address this issue. You must prove to have legal access to the AB data in order for the AB features to be turned on for your campaign.
You can obtain access to the DOE daily absentee data files by completing the application located here or from your local SOE:
https://doe.dos.state.fl.us/fvrscountyballotreports/fvrsefilings.aspx
Once access is obtained from the DOE or SOE, fax or email proof to doug@emri.net and request that the AB features be turned on.
