The Contact Details Screen

As you can see, there are a number of different pieces of information that can be added for any contact. Let's look at each section a little more closely.
Under Name

The Prefix, First, Middle, Last, and Suffix are fairly straight forward. The Greeting line can be used as a mail merge field for Deliverables, ie. "Dear _______,".
This can be a nickname ("Bob"), a couple ("Jack and Diane"), or a generic greeting for a business ("Campaign Supporter").
Under Other

Organization could also be business or committee name. This line is especially important for campaign finance contacts (contributors or vendors).

The "File As" line tells webElect.net what name to use as the main name listed for searches for this record.
If a contact record is linked to a voter record, but the "File As" name is different than the voter record, the person will be listed in search results for both versions of their name. The "AKA" column of the search results will show the other version of their name.

Job Title and DOB are fairly straight forward. The DOB line is generally used for voters not for all contacts.
The Occupation line is important for campaign contributions.
Under Contact

The Email address line here is used when the contact has been added to a deliverable, and the campaign has selected "Use E-mail If Available?" for that deliverable. Instead of printing the deliverable, it will be sent via email to the contact. This works well for press releases.
The Cell, Home, Work, and Fax numbers - when entered for a voter - can be used as part of a phone bank.
Under Addresses

webElect.net allows the campaign to have a home, work, and mailing address for each contact. This enables the campaign to maintain complete records. However, if a campaign only has a work address (such as from a business card), then the user can leave the home and mailing address sections blank. A deliverable can be set to prioritize the addresses to either "mailing > home > work" or "home > work" depending on the need of the campaign for a specific deliverable.
Under Advanced Options

There are two or three advanced options, depending on whether the contact is also a voter in the district:
- Delete Contact - Will delete the contact record. If the contact is also a voter, that voter record will remain and can not be deleted. You can, however, create a group to store voter records you wish to always remove from your mailings and then use the "Exclude if Member" feature of the query/targeting tool to remove those voters from any lists you create. You can not delete a contact record that has been used in your finance reports.
- Link to Voter - Will attempt to link a contact to a voter record, if the campaign thinks the contact is also a voter in the district.
- Break Voter Link - Will sever the link between a contact and a voter record.
