Editing a deliverable

Using the same steps as adding a deliverable, editing a deliverable starts by clicking Edit next to the deliverable you'd like to add.

This brings up the edit screen:

From there we have the same sections as adding, only when editing some fields will already be filled in:

Deliverable Information

The basic information about any deliverable is the same. Each has a name, a type, and a description. If the deliverable will be sent via email, it has a subject line. And the campaign staffer can assign the deliverable a shortcut key to add voters to the deliverable from a mobile device.

Message Content

webElect.net provides a rich text editor to provide some limited formatting for the message part of a deliverable. Not all deliverables need a message component, such as tracking when yard signs or direct mail pieces are delivered.

However, when writing letters or press releases, there are some special formatting that can be applied. Moreover, the system can merge the deliverable with contact or voter data, similar to a word processor's "Mail Merge" function.

The content is stored as HTML (Click the View Source checkbox at the bottom of the content window to see what the database sees), which is perfect for sending a deliverable via email. When the browser processes a letter to be printed, it converts the HTML to what the formatting you provide in the rich text editor.

When done creating the deliverable, click the button.
