Group Management

The Group Management function on both the Voter Info and Campaign Contacts menus allows a campaign to aggregate voters or contacts together for communications or tracking in the future, based on information obtained from outside webElect.net.

webElect.net allows each campaign to create and manage custom groups. A group can be just about any demographic imagined. Some common groups can include:

  • Positions on various issues (pro-life, pro-choice, pro-vouchers);
  • Affiliation with various groups (NRA, Right to Life, Chamber of Commerce, collegiate alumni);
  • Occupation or profession (doctors, lawyers, military, home builders);
  • Voter status (absentee, already voted) ; and/or
  • Supporter status (strong supporter, opposed, undecided, contributor).

There can be other times a groups, this list is not meant to be exhaustive. A group can be any aggregation of two or more voters or contacts a campaign wants to be able to identify in the future. As information come in about a voter or a contact, from direct communications through phone banks and walk lists to a candidate meeting him or her at a supermarket -- that information can be used to put the voter or contact into one or more groups.

This group management function can be used to filter voter queries when your campaign wants to communicate with the voters or contacts. It can also be used when sending other campaign communications.
