Query-Targeting-2

WebElect/EditDeliverable > WebElect/EditingAnEvent > WebElect/MainMenu

The user is presented with the list of Groups the campaign has previously created, and is able to make selections based on each of the groups.

The Keep Only If Member Of column restricts the query to retain the voters who match the demographic selections and are also members of the group(s) selected. There is a drop down with Any and All as options - which mean what they say. When Any is selected, those voters who were assigned to any one of the selected groups would be included in the output. Conversely, when All is selected, only those voters who were assigned to all of the selected groups would be included. (This option is helpful when targeting special groups, such as Pro Life or those identified as supportive.)

The Exclude If Member column eliminates all voters who were previously assigned to groups selected, even if they match the demographic data. (This is particularly helpful when a campaign has a group of voters who support an opposing candidate.)

The Keep If Household Has Member would include voters who meet the demographic selections when another voter in their household is a member of the group(s) selected. (This option is helpful when targeting special groups, such as Pro Life or those identified as supportive. If a voter who meets the demographic criteria lives in the same household as a voter previously identified as Pro Life, then the voter who meets the criteria will be included in the output.)

The Exclude If Household Has Member selection would exclude all voters who meet the demographic selection when another voter in their household is a member of the group(s) selected. (This is particularly helpful when a campaign has a group of voters who support an opposing candidate. If a voter who meets the demographic criteria lives in the same household as a voter previously identified as supporting an opponent, then the voter who meets the criteria will be excluded from the output.)

The Ignore selection will make no determination based on those groups that are selected. When all groups are ignored, then all voters who meet the demographic criteria will be included in the output.

Once all of the groups have been selected, the user will click the Next Page button.
