The main power in webElect lies in the search function at the top of each page.

The user can search for all people in the database (voters and contacts) by selecting the last, first option or Contacts Only.

This enables the user to find Contacts or Voters by name, even if they only have a partial names.

The results are displayed in groups of 300. The results show the name and addresses of those matching the search.

The results screen also shows some demographic information in the Other Info column. Included here are the party affiliation, age, gender, their primary voting score, and general election voting score.

From the search results page, the user can then do a number of tasks. Looking at the list of names, you can see several icons.

Contact details -- This allows the campaign to add or edit contact information for a voter or a contact. When the user wants to add contact information for a voter, the system creates a contact record for that individual.

Voter details -- This information contains the demographic and election history for the voter, as provided in the central voter file. This link will not work for contacts, even if they are voters in another district.

Notes -- This allows users to add Notes to the voter or edit existing notes previously entered for the voter.

Groups -- Users can add the voter to new Groups, or manage existing groups to which the voter was previously assigned.

Deliverables -- Users can add the voter to Deliverables, or manage existing deliverables to which the voter was previously assigned.

Contributions -- Users can add a new contribution from a contact. Some information for existing contributions can be edited. When a contribution is reported to the state, the user can use this mechanism to make changes needed for an amended report. Contributions that have not been reported can be edited.

Expenditures -- Users can add a new expenditure to a contact. Like contributions, the editing of expenditures is limited based on whether or not the expenditure has been reported.

Household Members -- This function shows all voters or contacts with the same address.
